You might have heard the definition of “insanity” – keep doing what you are doing and expecting a different result.
It’s time to do things differently. Business owners and managers tend to hire others with the people currently in that position in mind. I don’t suggest that strategy. Think of the ideal person for the job.
Success can increase when you align the important talents required for that position with the people you hire. Your possible new hire can struggle because he/she is expected to excel in an area that is not a strength for them (and may not be able to be trained). Some of these include – but are not limited to – empathy (you have it/or you don’t), desire to be of service to others, highly competitive, and love of numbers.
Your assignment: for each position, determine the top three talents needed. Be sure when you interview, keep that in mind if it’s a trainable one (contact me for additional info).
